                                                            students surveyed, the five most important are Instagram
                                                            (92%), YouTube (87%), Facebook (60%), TikTok (43%) and
                                                            Snapchat (20%).
                                                            It is worth noting that Facebook has become less popular
                                                            over the years. In the respective survey by Naftika Chronika
                                                            in 2020, 82% of first-year students answered that they used
                                                            Facebook regularly. In the same survey in 2021, the percent-
                                                            age was 67%.
                                62%                         On the contrary, Instagram is becoming increasingly popular.
                              60%                           In the same 2020 and 2021 surveys, 89% and 86%, respec-
                                                            tively, had responded that they used Instagram regularly,
                                                            compared to 92% in this year’s survey.
                                                            Male first-year students use Facebook more than their female
                                                            counterparts. Facebook is used regularly by 62% of male
                                                            first-year students and 49% of female first-year students. In
                                  49%      50%              contrast, female first-year students use TikTok more regularly:
                                                            One in two (50%) are regular TikTok users compared to 42%
                                                            of their male counterparts.
                                       43%                  Almost three out of ten (29%) male and female first-year
                                         42%                students regularly use Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Of
                                                            those who regularly use TikTok, two out of three (67%) also
                                                            regularly use Facebook and Instagram.
