With a publishing presence since 1931, Naftika Chronika is the most historic publication in the Greek maritime press. The magazine, which has been at the forefront of delivering shipping news for decades, has received significant distinctions for its long-standing contribution to accurate and timely information, from institutions and bodies such as the Academy of Athens, the Municipality of Athens, the Botsis Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism, and the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards.
In the magazine’s monthly issues, prominent figures from the Greek and international shipping industry share their insights through exclusive interviews, discussing their thoughts, concerns, and visions for the present and future of shipping.
The editorial team of Naftika Chronika regularly conducts researches and analyses, which are published in the magazine’s monthly issues. These researches and analyses cover the full spectrum of the shipping industry, focusing on both international and Greek shipping, global trade, business investments, ship management, the shipbuilding industry, as well as on young people who choose to pursue a professional career in shipping.
Naftika Chronika has a strong online presence through its news website naftikachronika.gr and its dynamic social media channels, which have tens of thousands of friends and followers, maintaining an open dialogue with the public and reflecting modern trends in communication and information sharing.
The magazine’s outreach to its audience is also complemented with a daily newsletter, which presents the most important news and updates from the domestic and international shipping industry.
At the same time, the editorial team of the magazine organises and carries out a significant number of initiatives and events dedicated to informing the younger generation of Greeks about the prospects of a future career in shipping. As part of these efforts, in 2015, Isalos.net was launched. Isalos.net is an educational initiative, which maintains and supports a channel of communication and information between representatives of the shipping industry and the next generation of Greek seafarers.
In 2008, Naftika Chronika established the Efkranti Awards, which are held annually to honour personalities, companies and institutions that contribute to the prominence of Greek shipping.
Gratia Publications, which has been publishing Naftika Chronika magazine since 1998, has issued an ESG Report as part of its commitment to transparency in recording and promoting its activities.
The report focuses on environmental responsibility, human rights, the labour practices implemented by the company, and the corporate governance model it has adopted.
