
Global Maritime Consultants Group (GMCG) worked on the development of an innovative solution for upstream field development aimed at optimizing the region’s existing well infrastructure. This collaboration emphasized streamlined feasibility studies and development solutions, integrating cost-effective and high-efficiency methodologies tailored to the offshore sector.
Together, GMCG and an upstream operator aimed to enhance resource management and implement systematic strategies that promote sustainable growth. Key areas of focus included feasibility studies, FPSO FEED analysis, FPSO selection, cost-time analysis, subsea architecture development, monitoring drilling programs, conceptual field layout design, FPSO conversion specification preparation, and identifying suitable shipyards for conversion.

Focused specifically on upstream offshore development solutions, the project involved evaluating the viability of new field developments, infrastructure optimization, and planning for future FPSO conversion and deployment.

GMCG’s Technical Approach
1. Field Layout Design
GMCG initiated the process by conceptualizing the offshore field layout and structure, leveraging comprehensive bathymetric data and existing well locations to identify optimal sites for new wells. The design adhered to strict CAPEX, OPEX, and FDP requirements, maximizing flowline efficiency and supporting strategic rig mobilization.
2. FPSO FEED Study Integration
GMCG performed feasibility studies incorporating key operational components as follows:

3. Offshore Field Identification
Following the feasibility studies, GMCG identified optimal field sites based on collected data. This phase included conversion scope planning and budget estimation in line with overall project goals.
4. FPSO Shipyard Conversion
GMCG identified suitable shipyard locations for conversion based on compatibility with both wet and dry dock requirements. Efficient transportation pathways were also established to support ongoing and future operational needs.
Outcome & Solution Delivered
Through this strategic partnership, GMCG provided the upstream operator with a structured, cost-effective roadmap for FPSO field assessment, site identification, and conversion. This approach enabled informed decision-making, enhanced offshore development efficiency, and supported the region’s long-term sustainability goals.
