The Techcross training center opened its door in Athens, Greece, the hub in the maritime industry.

An opening ceremony for the Greece training center, designated as a hub for training in Europe region, was held on March 15 at the newly relocated ARGO NAVIS building. The ceremony was attended by 9 representatives, including Park Seog-won, CEO of Techcross and Ioannis Alevropoulos and Maximous-Ioannis Katsidimas, managing partners of SEACROSS. SEACROSS is a service agency that will help with the operation and management of the local training center. To ensure stable operation of the training center and convenient accessibility for customers, SEACROSS and ARGO NAVIS collaborated closely until the company relocated, creating an environment that allows for even tighter cooperation.

With the increasing installation rate of ballast water management systems, incidents of improper operation due to inadequate training have also increases. Recognizing the importance of education and training, the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and various classification societies have emphasized the need for training. In response to this demand, Techcross has been operating training centers with actual equipment installed at 6 major global hubs early on. The newly opened Greece training center is the 7th center and is distinguished by its comprehensive combination of actual equipment with the 1 set of ECS 150B model and its simulations, enabling more realistic training. The training center can accommodate more than 20 students at once, targeting a wide range of students, including seafarers who directly operate equipment, as well as shipowners, supervisors and design engineers involved in the design, installation, and inspection of new ships and retrofits.

With all equipment installed and instructors trained, those wishing to enroll can apply for courses through Techcross or SEACROSS, an official Greek partner. The training center, which will be in full operation from Apil, is expected to provide optimal education and training to students for the successful operation of ballast water management systems.
